How to cure blackheads?

I would wash my face with a good exfoliant like St. Ives Apricot scrub. To keep excess oil at a minimum, use Stridex pads in between washing. And a facial mask once a week (Aveeno, Mudd, or Noxema). How to cure blackheads?
Doctors usually recommend an OTC or prescription topical medication for people with blackheads, whiteheads, and mild inflammatory acne. Depending on the type of medication, a topical drug is applied directly to the acne lesions or to the entire area of skin affected. The medication helps limit the formation of new blackheads and whiteheads and decrease inflammation.Benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur are the most common topical OTC medications used to treat acne. Each works a little differently. Benzoyl peroxide is best at killing P. acnes and may reduce oil production. Resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur help break down blackheads and whiteheads. Salicylic acid also helps cut down the shedding of cells lining the follicles of the oil glands. Topical OTC medications are available in many forms, such as gel, lotion, cream, soap, or pad.

In some patients, OTC acne medications may cause side effects such as skin irritation, burning, or redness. Some people find that the side effects lessen or go away with continued use of the medication. Severe or prolonged side effects should be reported to the doctor.

OTC topical medications are usually moderately effective in treating acne when used regularly. Patients must keep in mind that it can take between 4 and 8 weeks before they notice an improvement in their skin.

Prescription Topical Medications

Several types of prescription topical medications are used to treat acne, including benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics, tretinoin, adapalene, and azelaic acid. Prescription and OTC benzoyl peroxide work in the same way. Many doctors prescribe benzoyl peroxide instead of recommending OTC versions to make sure patients get the most desirable formulation (cream, gel, or lotion).

It is never a good idea to pick or squeeze pimples. When you squeeze a pimple yourself, you ALWAYS make it worse. This is because squeezing at the level of the skin pinches the center of the pimple, allowing some pus to leave the top of the skin. What you don't see is pus being pushed deeper into the skin, causing more redness and inflammation, swelling, and an increased chance for bacterial infection. This is why a picked pimple always looks worse than one that is not picked. Continued picking can cause scabs to develop, and possible scarring.

Pores are natural structures in our skin that allow for sweat to escape. Some people have larger pores than others. As we age, pore size increases. Blackheads and breakouts are different from enlarged pores.

General skin care should include:

Gently cleansing your skin, using water-based cosmetics and cleansers, instead of oil-based products. If the label does not say whether a product is water- or oil-based, put a bit on your finger, and run water over it. If the water beads up and the material stays on, it is probably oil-based, not water-based.

Choose products labeled as non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic. This means that the product has been tested and does not cause acne.

A healthy diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables helps give blemish-free skin.

Do not excessively wash or scrub your skin. Acne and blackheads are not caused by dirt. They are related to hormones, in both men and women.

Over-cleaning your skin, vigorous washing, or harsh cleansers can damage or irritate your skin.

If you still break out, a dermatologist can help improve your skin. How to cure blackheads?
point your face to the mirror and push the blackhead and it's mayonnaise out of your pores one at a time. Then wipe rigorously with alcohol after to keep them from filling up again.............. Not a cure but a way to deal with zits............
I do not believe there is a cure but there are things you can do to help reduce them. Keep you face clean. There are several good cleaning solutions at you local drugstore. My son uses neutragena facial cleaner and pore pads to remove the black heads he has. They both work to help control his black heads and acne.

It may burn. let it for at least to the count of 15...then rinse with cool water. your face will feel really clean. make this a daily habit(only use an astringent once a day) I prefer bedtime.
