Blackheads are open comedones. Basically it is oil that is trapped in the sebaceous glands exposed to air which turns them black.


Usually people with blackheads have slow sluggish oil which can be indicative of an essential fatty acid deficiency. Get stuck into Omega 3's, this will help regulate the oil flow so will help stop it from being woody plugs in the pores.


You need to cleanse, tone and moisturise 2x daily. Try using an oil pre cleanser, oil helps to lift oil so will help to dislodge the blackheads.


Using a salycilic acid wash or cream will help to remove the oil out of the pores as well as helping to shed dead skin cells. Use a preperation with salicylic acid in it instead of a grain scrub.


Ensure if you wear makeup that you use something that is non-comedogenic (mineral make up is a good choice). Or check that what ever you are wearing in your hair (i.e. waxes etc isn't on the face - can also rub off onto pillow when sleeping and block pores).


Get into a good skin care routine. Take omega 3's, exfoliate using a salicylic acid type preparation.

Dont touch them!!! or you wil spread them with your fingers! run a sink full of really hot water and put in a face cloth. Lay the cloth over your effected areas for like 10mins... then clean your face with a hot cloth, with a cleanser if you want... then once its clean wash it again with cold water. Then your done :)
