Don't use any expensive face washes that ';guarantee'; they can clear spots, they may work in the short term but in the long term they are awful for your skin. Only use warm water and soap on your skin, it's the only thing that won't aggravate skin more.

You should only be washing your face twice a day, when you wake up and before you go to sleep. Any more and you will over stimulate the sebum glands in your face causing them to produce more grease and you'll get more spots.

If it worries you go to your doctor, they will be able to prescribe something. Normally a topical lotion for mild to moderate acne that should be applied twice a day after washing (but all lotions differ so follow the instructions from your doctor) or for severe acne or if the lotions aren't working your doctor will be able to give you medication that will help.

Your acne won't however disappear over night, it can take several weeks or months for acne to completely clear up and in some cases it never completely clears up.

If you get blackheads, don't pick at them, steam your face and open up your pores then pull the skin each side of the blackhead away from each other in opposite directions i.e. %26lt;------- : -------%26gt; ( : = blackhead). Whatever you do DON'T pick your spots, I know it's hard but don't, you'll just make them worse, your hands carry germs that could make the infections wose and you could end up with scars. With whiteheads, the whiteness you see is puss, this means the spot is infected, according to my doctor it is okay to pop these and squeeze them, but only enough to get all the puss out, the moment you see blood you should stop.

Hope this helps =]
ive had acne for over ten years and the only thing that ever worked for me is proactiv solution, the sensitive skin formula... i was allergic to the benzoyl peroxide in the regular formula and i got a super bad rash but it cleared up and they sent me the one i use now...its great and i have tried everything else on the market and then some.. :) im not trying to be a commercial but i am just saying what worked for me..
