Question about blackheads?

i am in a debate with someone over this-- they say that blackheads, even the long stringy ones go straight down into your face like they come out. i say that they are more like contained in a sac or something of the like. which is true? i honestly don't see how some of these blackheads people have that are an inch or so long can be one pore straight down or at an angle...... so whats the deal?Question about blackheads?
